The objective of industrial training is to expose the student to a conducive working environment related to their course of study and discover their potential before they graduate. I am really grateful to have the opportunity of having my industrial training program at Prince of Songkla University, Thailand. During my attachment, I worked under the supervision of Associate Professor. Dr. Pharkphoom Panichayupakaranant at Phytomedicine & Pharmaceutical Biotechnology Excellent Centre (PPBEC). Throughout the internship program, I was involved in research work which requires me to practice laboratory work ethics and procedures. Besides that, I was given the opportunity to perform a research project that allowed me to gain more knowledge about research work especially in production of natural based products.

The training given me a chance to practice and improve my basic skills that was learned during lectures and practical. This influenced and generated my interests to be involved in the research field for the future. Throughout my attachment, I gradually learned a new language, culture and also being able to improve on my communication skill especially English proficiency. I also have been given opportunities to be involved in few programs conducted by International Students Society at Prince of Songkla University. It was great to mingle around with the international student as we can share experiences and exchange opinions. In short, during the internship program, I gained knowledge on how to interact and accept environment not familiar to me.

I am really grateful and would like to express my sincere gratitude to Faculty of Industrial Sciences & Technology, UMP for arranging this internship smoothly as well as Prince of Songkla University for the scholarship provided under Thailand’s Education Hub for the ASEAN Countries (TEH-AC).
