The Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is designed to expose students to practical knowledge and skills that cover key components of Occupational Safety and Occupational Health. According to the Program Education Objectives (PEO), this course is designed to produce graduates who are academically qualified and competent Occupational Safety and Health Practitioners. Graduates will be equipped with technical, problem-solving and scientific skills. Graduates will be expected to demonstrate commitment to the community and actively involved in safe work culture with professional attitudes, ethical conducts and social responsibilities. Graduates will also capable in embarking on business and technopreneurial activities.

Student will learn courses include the Principles and Practices of OSH, OSH Legislations, Introduction to Human Anatomy and Physiology, Principles of Toxicology, OSH Risk Management, Fundamentals of Industrial Hygiene, OSH Information and Data Management Systems, Behavior Based Safety, Fire Safety, Introduction to Ergonomics, Industrial Safety, Introduction to Epidemiology and Disease, Accident Investigation, Emergency Response Plan, OSH Management System and several optional courses. At the end of the program, students will undergo industry training to gain real job experience in the industry. Graduates of this Diploma could further their studies in first degree in the relevant fields. Job opportunities include Industrial Hygiene Technician (IHT), Fire Technician, Permit To Work (PTW) System Coordinator, Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) in the construction industry, Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSHC) in the small and medium industries and Safety and Health Officer (SHO) in all industries.

Diploma in Industrial Science

Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) are very crucial elements for the national transformation to produce knowledgeable and innovative society. Thus, this program aims to provide knowledge and skills that is relevant with the ongoing Industrial Revolution.

In the first year of study, students will be equipped with fundamental science knowledge including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. Several courses that possess the elements of Industrial Revolution such as Data Science for Scientists, Computer Interfacing & Control and Bioinformatics are also included to produce holistic graduates ready for employability.

The following year, there are three major areas available which are Biotechnology, Chemical Technology and Material Technology. Students are allowed to register courses from other tracks at their preferences. At the end of the program, students will be required to undergo minimum six (6) months of practical training in related industries.

With the acquired knowledge and skills after graduation, graduates are ready to contribute to the relevant fields or pursue their studies to higher level.
