Global Classroom with University of Chulalongkorn, Thailand
17th November 2020 –In line with the Centre of Instructional Resources & e-Learning (CIReL) initiative to connect students and academics from different countries, a global classroom between Faculty of Industrial Sciences and Technology (FIST), Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP), and University of Chulalongkorn, Thailand was conducted. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic limitations, a total of 37 students from BSK2183 Thermodynamics class took part in the global classroom. Ts. Dr. Siti Noor Hidayah Mustapha, the lecturer of the course, invited the collaborator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Varong Pavarajarn, from Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, as the guest lecturer. Prof. Varong gave a presentation on the Second law of Thermodynamics. Students participated well by asking questions and enjoying the class. Prof. Varong also shared videos on real instruments and processes applied in industries such as pumps, boiler, turbine and condenser during his session which improved the interactions of students. Finally, the class ended with a short question and answer session.
